St Andrews Annual Football Festival 2013
Sunday 8th September saw the 2013 St Andrew’s Football Festival take place at St Andrews CE School in Boothstown. A great day of football and fun was had by all that attended with over 80 players taking part in the 2 football tournaments held during the day. Below are some shots of the day.
Football Tournament
In addition to the football, there was entertainment for all in the form of a Penalty Shoot Out, and Bouncy Castle and Face Painting. This was along side the ever popular barbeque and sweets & drinks stalls to keep everyone fed and watered during the day. Congratulations to the winning teams from the two tournaments:
Two of the highlights of the day were the Tug of War competition and the Stocks.
Tug of War
The inaugural St Andrews Tug of War competition was a keenly contested event between 6 teams representing different St Andrews team. A lot of hard effort, sweat and tears went into each round.
The Stocks
Extremely popular with all the players was the chance for them to get their own back for all those hard training sessions, when several of the managers and coaches took their turns in the stocks. Even the chairman Chris Varma took a turn!
